Why GST-ready billing still breaks on the floor

Abilling product that “supports GST” in a feature list can still fail at 11 a.m. on a busy counter. The tax engine is rarely the hard part. The hard part is the loop: scan, tax, stock, pay, and a credit note that does not invent a second reality at month-end.

When we built eBillger, we sat with how shops actually sell — batches, mixed GST slabs, a cashier who will not wait for a ledger to finish. The invoice has to move inventory in the same moment. Finance still needs a trail they can close without a weekend of spreadsheets.

If you are choosing billing software in India, ask to see a credit note, an HSN change mid-bill, and a day-end that matches the till. That demo tells you more than a GST badge on a homepage.
